A is for Aphids

In my new garden near Kettering, early this year I planted some beautiful David Austin roses. It was during lockdown that they were attacked by hoards of aphids. As I couldn't get out all I had in my armoury was a spray bottle and diluted washing up liquid. Every day I was out there in battle with the aphids. They decimated the young shoots and I thought I had lost them all. But recently the roses have recovered and now are showing beautiful Blooms.

So you would think that was the end of the story! But no. Now my espalier apple trees are covered in aphids!
